BOURGES, THE CAPITAL TOWN OF BERRY IN THE CENTRE-VAL DE LOIRE REGION

Bourges, capital of the Berry province, is located in the Centre-Val de Loire administrative region and is 240km south of Paris. It has a rich heritage that includes the Avaricum, Jacques-Cœur Palace and Saint-Étienne de Bourges Cathedral, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Bourges has also become famous over the last 40 years for its renowned ‘Le Printemps de Bourges’ music festival that takes place for one week in April. The festival takes over the whole town once a year, transforming it into a capital of song! Participants can enjoy wild nights and make great discoveries…

Our campsite is just an hour’s drive from the well-known Parc de Beauval zoological park, classed as one of the 10 best wild animal parks in the world! Come and see a wide range of animals from all four corners of the earth and the recently constructed equatorial dome of 10,000m², which is the only one in the world! This is an amazing place for the whole family to discover.

Close to the la Loire à vélo, the Via Allier and Saint-Jacques à Vélo - Via Vézelay, our campsite is an ideal stopover for cyclists seeking comfort, peace, and services tailored to their needs.

How to get here? From the Loire embankment at Guétin in the town of Cuffy (km 0 of the Loire à Vélo and the Via Allier crossing) or from the town of La Guerche-sur-l'Aubois for Saint-Jacques à Vélo, take the D976 to Bourges, then in Bourges continue along Avenue Ernest Renan. At the roundabout, turn left onto Boulevard Auger, then at the next roundabout, turn right onto Boulevard du Maréchal Joffre. Continue straight on the D2076 until you reach the campsite, 2 km away.

Our campsite is just a 15-minute walk from Bourges historical town centre and Auron Lake. It has 107 pitches over an area of 1.3 hectares, with state-of-the-art mobile homes, traditional camping pitches or hard-standing pitches for campervans. You can indulge in all the possibilities afforded by the natural setting: sporting activities, visits to the town, relaxation, shops, markets, cinemas and more. Make the most of the luxurious greenery at Auron Lake, to enjoy many sporting and water activities.
